Why it matters

What makes an IT project go smoothly?

An IT project goes smoothly when the scope is written down, the costs are agreed upfront, and one person owns every detail from ordering equipment to final testing. BizTechPro manages IT projects that way, schedules disruptive work after hours whenever possible, and keeps you updated in plain English, so moves and upgrades disrupt as little of your workday as possible.

Most IT projects that go wrong don’t fail on the technical work. They fail on details: the internet circuit that wasn’t ordered in time, the software license that didn’t transfer, the printer nobody remembered until Monday morning. Each missed detail turns into downtime, an unexpected invoice, or a frustrated team, and the owner usually ends up refereeing between contractors and vendors.

BizTechPro’s approach to IT project management is built to catch those details early. We walk the site or review the systems involved, write a scope that lists every task and piece of equipment, and give you a quote before anything is ordered. During the project, one point of contact coordinates internet carriers, software vendors, electricians, and furniture installers, configures and tests the equipment, and keeps the old system running until the new one is proven.

Since 2008, we’ve handled office moves, server retirements, network refreshes, and Microsoft 365 migrations for businesses across Rockland, Westchester, and Bergen County. Disruptive work is scheduled for evenings or weekends whenever possible, and every project ends with documentation of what was installed and how it is configured. If BizTechPro manages your IT afterward, our help desk already knows the new setup on the first day.

What’s included

Everything your business needs, handled by one team.

Office moves & build-outs

Cabling, network, internet, phones, and workstations planned with your landlord and contractors, then installed and tested so everything works the morning your team walks into the new space.

Server & hardware upgrades

Aging servers and equipment replaced on a planned schedule, with data migrated, applications tested on the new hardware, and the cutover timed for evenings or weekends.

Network refreshes

New firewalls, switches, and Wi-Fi access points designed around how your office works today, installed while the old equipment keeps running until the new setup is proven.

Microsoft 365 migrations

Email, calendars, contacts, and files moved from older Exchange servers, Google Workspace, or basic hosting into Microsoft 365, with mail flow switched over cleanly and nothing left behind.

Device rollouts

New computers configured with your software and settings before they reach desks, user files transferred, and retired devices securely wiped and documented so no data walks out the door.

Project management

One point of contact, a written timeline, and regular updates in plain English, plus coordination with carriers, software vendors, and contractors so nothing falls through the cracks.

Common questions

Questions about IT projects?

Ask our team
What is IT project management for small businesses?

IT project management is the planning and coordination that turns a technology change, such as an office move or server replacement, into a scheduled, budgeted piece of work. BizTechPro writes the scope, orders equipment, coordinates vendors and carriers, does the technical work, and tests everything before go-live, so the owner isn’t left managing contractors on top of running the business.

How are IT projects priced?

Every BizTechPro project starts with a written scope and quote before any work begins, so you know the cost and exactly what is included upfront. The scope lists equipment, labor, timeline, and anything you’ll need to provide. If something changes along the way, we explain the impact and get your approval before going further.

Can you do IT project work after hours?

Yes. BizTechPro schedules disruptive work, such as server cutovers, firewall replacements, and email migrations, for evenings or weekends whenever possible. Quieter tasks like running cable or preparing new laptops can happen during the day without interrupting anyone. We agree on the schedule with you in advance, so staff know exactly when systems will be unavailable.

How far ahead should we plan IT for an office move?

Start talking to BizTechPro as soon as you are seriously considering a new space, ideally before the lease is signed. Internet service at a new address can take several weeks to install, and cabling is far easier to run before walls and ceilings are closed. Early planning also shows whether your existing equipment should move or be replaced.

Do we need to be a managed IT client to hire BizTechPro for a project?

No. BizTechPro takes on IT projects for businesses that have their own IT staff or another provider, as well as for our managed IT clients. Project-only clients get the same written scope, quote, and point of contact. When the project ends, we hand over documentation so whoever supports you next knows exactly what was done.

What happens to our old computers and servers after an upgrade?

BizTechPro securely wipes retired computers, servers, and drives before they leave your control, so client and business data can’t be recovered from them. We record which devices were wiped and when, which helps if a client, insurer, or regulator later asks how old equipment was handled. Devices still worth keeping can be reset and reassigned to other staff instead.

How long does a typical small office IT project take?

It depends on the scope. Rolling out a handful of new laptops might take a few days, while an office move or server replacement is usually planned over several weeks so equipment, internet service, and vendors line up. BizTechPro gives you a written timeline with the quote, so you can see each phase and plan around it before work starts.

Can you work with our contractors, landlord, and software vendors?

Yes. Coordinating outside parties is a big part of BizTechPro’s project work. We talk directly with electricians, general contractors, building management, internet carriers, and software vendors about cabling routes, equipment rooms, install dates, and data transfers, so you aren’t relaying technical questions back and forth between people who don’t speak the same language.
